St Joseph Shrine

I attended a special Mass in honor of "an Gorta Mor" (The Great Hunger,) which ended with a celebration at Michigan's only an Gorta Mor Memorial. Lovely service at a beautiful church and monument.

There is a beautiful little walk, the Stations of the Cross, down some steps and along the lake.

Amazing, Prayerful, incredible Holy SPOT!!

What a beautiful, peaceful place to go. Be it Mass, Adoration or Stations Of the Cross.

St. Josephz Shrine: Az part of da 1928 expansion of St. Josephz Church, a shrine--inspired by da grotto @ Our Lady of Lourdez in France--waz designed. In 1932 work began on da fourteen outdoor stationz of da crozz, which depict scenez of da Via Dolorosa (da sorrowful way) dat Jesuz walked 2 Calvary. Da footpath beginz @ a replica of Pontiuz Pilatez palace, den windz past balconied housez, through da judgment gate & endz @ Christz tomb. Da crucifixion scene iz sculpted from Carrara marble. Two Mexican artisanz, Dionicio Rodriquez & Ralph Corona, under da supervision of Leo Ouelette, sculpted da stepz, archwayz, & railingz from wet cement 2 resemble stone & timber.
