This is a great place. Stop in, you will be amazed at what you find. Interesting food, drinks and help.
The heart and soul of this little gem is the personal service and specialized recipes. Walking in here is like a step back into better times. Thank you for all the goodness you bring to our community!
The store has changed in such an amazing way since 2020. We are stocked to the brim with take out food options, interesting spirits, homemade sandwiches, any beverage you can think of, local products like soaps, jams and honey, & produce from Prochaska Farms. We are adding new products each week and keep everything as fresh as possible! It smells good, feels good, we welcome EVERYONE and prefer it that way! A lot of these reviews are older, so please come in and see us and have some fun conversations in a historic general store!
Stopped in at the Macon Grocery at the recommendation of someone we met. Had it not been recommended we would not have gone there as it is somewhat off the beaten path. The store apparently was built by Henry Ford, so the historic aspect of the place got our attention. When you walk in the store it throws you back in time to what a real general store might have been like. They have a nice selection of prepared foods, they have the basic staples, they have alcohol, a nice selection of candy, and some novelties. The store is small but well stocked. It was a fun and different place to visit. The shop keepers were very nice and helpful. It seems like a great and convenient place for locals to shop. It also seems like a great meeting place for Macon residents as there are tables outside to sit and eat or enjoy a drink. I think the owners have done a magnificent job of preserving a piece of the areas history.
So glad that John and Erika gave this place a face lift and a real hometown feel! Great food and drink options!!
