Olga's Kitchen

In Detroit so it was my first time at Olga's Kitchen. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Wished there was a few Olga's in Central Florida.

Our waitress was great. We were a party of 8, but at 2 in the afternoon the place was empty. One of the gyros served to my friend was not good. He said it tasted bad and left it there. We didn't have time to get it replaced.

This is a great place for both lunch and dinner. Our office orders from here about once a week, and often have larger and somewhat complicated orders. The snackers are so good, and the peasant soup is my favorite. I am usually picking up the order and they do a very good job of making sure everything is correct. The only negative is sometimes I will walk in and be ignored by 2 or 3 workers because it apparently isn't their job to say hi or acknowledge that even if they are not the person handling carry outs, they can still let the customer know that someone will take care of them soon.

I remembered this place as a fast food place where I was introduced to gyros decades ago. On a return visit to family in Michigan we went for lunch here and found it to be a very nice sit down restaurant. Our server was good and other servers checked in on us as they passed by...so many restaurants have servers that don't check on their own tables as much. Nice job, Olga's.
