LBF Piano & Voice Lessons

I have been a voice student of Laurie's for over 2 years and it has been such as exceptional experience. My voice has transformed from being a "singing in the shower" type of person to someone who can sing semi-professionally and in a wide number of venues. She has exposed me to many vocal styles, from classical to pop to Broadway and back, each with their own distinct challenges and nuances that she has effortlessly helped me to adapt to. Moreover, she is a fantastic educator, having many years of experience teaching students in the Birmingham, MI school district and in private lessons. This educational experience shines through as she provides detailed assessments on how to better adjust your voice to make the sound you want to hear for a given piece. Together, these qualities make her an unmatched vocal instructor for all skill and experience levels, and is why I would highly recommend her to anyone aiming to become a better singer.

Laurie Beth Frick is an extraordinary teacher of voice and music. She conveys a deep knowledge of music theory, how to sing effortlessly, and how to expand vocal range while improving tone, range, pronunciation and control. She helped me increase my upper range by almost an octave during my first year. In less than two years Laurie has helped me develop a repertoire of my favorite genres spanning Italian arias, musicals, Motown, sacred music, and others. Laurie’s teaching is innovative and fun.

Laurie is a fantastic Piano Teacher. She makes the lessons really enjoyable and challenging in a way that brings quick improvement. She has a tremendous amount of musical knowledge and is able to explain things in a way that meets me where I'm at. As a music producer, Laurie is not only making me a better piano player but she's teaching me how to hear music in a deeper and more satisfying way.

Laurie is an amazing teacher. She's very knowledgeable and a wonderful pianist who takes time with students. Listening to her experiences with musicians from her life training is not only interesting, but solidifies the fact she's a very well-trained pianist who is helping me to grow with my own skills. I would highly recommend Laurie if you are interested in learning piano.
