Oakland County Friend of the Court

This is family court and they are, in my opinion, the fairest and nicest people. My support staff is helpful and the judges chambers are extremely patient and kind. They can’t and don’t give legal advice but I found they’re very helpful in pointing you in the right direction. I’ve been in litigation of one area or another for the last 14 years and family court is the messiest and most emotional but when you have your facts and present them, they’re fair. They get a snap shot into our lives and we have to make the most of the time we have in court. They do the best they can. They also give a lot of chances. I do think more advocacy/resources/training needs to go to mental health and domestic abuse survivors because I have freaked out in zoom court. I’ve had attorneys that couldn’t do simple medical bills which is dollars and sense and another attorney that didn’t do any work product and I spent thousands. My last attorney cared and did an excellent job, jennifer Paine from Pinnacle Family Law but the defendants attorney misrepresented facts and they made it such a mess. Family law is an entire different animal than other area of law. It’s constant arguing and they make the process a little less painful in my experience. You just have to present facts and reasoning and things will go your way. Good luck to anyone reading this review. I know how hard it is. Stay strong and keep plugging.
