Very accommodating and able to fit me in on tight notice!
I have been going to Primary Eye Care since 1986. Way back then, Dr. Sanford was recommended to me by a coworker (I was new to the Troy area), and I’ve been going there ever since. My daughters received their eye care from Primary Eye Care since their very first eye exams. The doctors are all caring, kind, and friendly. Dr. Schultz is a wonderful addition to the practice and truly cares about the whole patient’s care and well-being. She even gave me advice on my elderly mother’s MD. Michelle, has helped me pick out glasses for 13 years. She knows exactly which pair will fit the shape of your face and will look best on you. I always love the glasses she helps me with, and I get tons of compliments. The office personnel has been extremely helpful with appointments and insurance coverage. Appointment times are convenient for people like myself who work full time-especially when my children were young. I am in and out of the office in no time when I have appointments. As I get older, I will continue to put my trust into the loyal staff at Primary Eye Care. If you are looking for for a place to care for your family’s eye sight, I have experienced first-hand that Primary Eye Care has stood the test of time, and will continue to do so into the future. #2020visionandcare
Overall I had a very nice experience. The optometrist was very professional and polite, but nothing really outstanding. What I really enjoyed was picking out frames with the help of an assistant. She was very helpful and pointed out a couple ways to judge eyeglasses that I hadn't heard of before (how the top lines up with your brow line and how the sides follow the line of your cheek bones). She didn't pressure me into buying a higher priced one, just helped me find other glasses that I might like.
Price-wise, well nothing was too shocking to me, but I haven't been to other eye places recently so I can't really compare. But you do spend a couple hundred on frames.
EDIT: May 2018. I went back to get some new eyeglasses. I saw a new doctor and she was very personable and friendly. It felt like chatting with a new friend rather than an eye doctor. The lady helping pick out glasses was also very nice and she tolerated my endless back and forth over tiny nitpicks. Glasses were still more expensive that those online website advertisements (even with some insurance). Overall though, I had another good experience at this place.
