ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation (Oakland)

Went to ProMedica Troy for rehab on a fractured hip. Rehab, both occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) were outstanding. Christina, PT and Supriya, OT worked with me 5 days a week for almost three weeks. At my arrival, I couldn't put weight on my fractured hip. When I left, I could walk 600 ft with a walker, go up and down 20+ steps, and stand without walker while doing light weight exercises. If you're looking for a rehab facility to jump start your recovery, ProMedica Troy is it.

Lots of friendliness here. the staff is kind and cheerful.food is tasty. Rec activists are enjoyed and therapy is thorough. My rehab suit room is big and i walk 20 steps everyday back and forth. I'm glad i chose Promedica and they had an opening.

We hear a lot about how bad nursing homes are and how residents often are ignored. If that is the mold, these folks broke it and broke it badly. My wife is a resident there and she has a particularly nasty incurable disease called progressive supranuclear palsy. When I was looking for a place for her - because she has gotten to a point where I do not have the skills to care for her - our consultant from Senior Care Network said this is the only place he would recommend. He was right on target. They have given her the best of care. Even though she is a very difficult patient because of her condition, they have gone above and beyond to develop and fine tune her care plan. They have responded to every one of my requests and the nursing staff are superb. The administrators have worked with me in so many ways there just isn't room to relate them all here. If you need a trusted, caring, medically skilled team to care for a loved one long term, this is your place. They also have one of the finest rehabilitation teams I've ever seen. Five stars to these folks is a low grade but that's the most allowed here. They earned every star in my view.
