I recently inherited my late Grandfather's ~35 year old film camera, and I had no idea where to even start. The very friendly staff at Camera Exchange got me all set up with everything I need, helped me figure out what I was doing, and were patient and friendly with me. They were even persistent with helping me get an issue resolved with the film developer when some of the images were lost - and they helped me retrieve images I thought were gone! I absolutely recommend this shop.
The best place for your camera needs in Southeast Michigan hands down.
I needed a rare specific part for my vintage film camera. I called all over the area and no one had the part. I tried finding it online, but because it was for a vintage camera, no one had the part.
I went into the Camera Exchange and explained what I needed. They actually had the part. I was amazed. James was extremely helpful. He was able to find the part and helped me with all my questions.
I can't recommend this place enough. Best place around.
The mistakes that come with getting into film photography have been allot easier to deal with because of these guys. Both cameras I’ve gotten they’ve went above and beyond to not only get them into working order but explain to me things getting me more familiar with a new medium of photography. On top of that, you can just tell they care about the photographer behind the camera. When you make it clear to them that you can’t afford it, usually you will walk out the door with it. And when they decide to charge you it’s always fair. For a store that sells film cameras they have amazing deals. Makes me more comfortable with this new type of photography and I’ll also be considering their store for my film making needs. With competitive pricing it makes sense. I couldn’t recommend this place more to any photographers in the area who want a thoughtful and informative approach to a camera store. I highly suggest this place too if you need help with a new camera digital or film.
My son was looking for a camera and special mount to use while skateboarding. We stopped in during the busy Christmas shopping season just to look around and received such awesome and personalized assistance from Joe. He took the time to answer all of our questions and offer up his expertise which was amazing. (Joe photographs musicians/ bands which was cool to talk with him about). They are a great store with top-notch guys ready to assist you with all your camera needs, great or small. Thanks again Joe!
