This church combines beautiful, traditional liturgy with lively discussions and freedom to explore. Those with intellectual reservations welcome, while those with traditional beliefs are comfortable too. All are welcome at the communion table. (The coffee hour table is not to be missed, either). When we began attending, I had never encountered a church so friendly to strangers. Holy Faith has led me to a new understanding of what it means to have a community. This one's a keeper.
Holy Faith is one of the friendliest churches you will ever attend! Congregants will greet you warmly and are glad to have you there. Holy Faith blends the traditions of the Episcopal and Lutheran liturgies into a beautiful service. This congregation has more active ministries than churches 3 times it's size. You can help grow vegetables for the poor, serve food at Delonis Shelter, knit or crochet prayer shawls and baby bonnets or help with the Paper Pantry, to name just a few of the many groups. The adult education class has covered all sorts of topics including a study of Islam, a comparison of different Christian denominations and a study of the reformation. The pastor is an excellent preacher and a caring individual.
I appreciate that everyone is welcome at this church and the strongest message is to love others and help those who are in need. You can come in jeans if you like. Our minister was the only clergy in town to speak in front of city council in favor of Saline's non-discrimination ordinance-- a fact we are quite proud of. Our choir is fun if you are an amateur or amateur+ singer. The coffee hours are a good balance of healthy and decadent : ) I appreciate that questions are welcomed here-- there is freedom to work through your spiritual journey no matter where you are in it.
If you are looking for a friendly, welcoming, accepting church community, Holy Faith is the church for you. We have child care, a variety of services, and many ways that you can get further involved in the church community. Our church is small enough that it is easy to make friends and learn people's names, but you can also remain uninvolved, if that is what you want. Stop by and try out a service and see what you think! You'll be happy you did.
I was new to Michigan, new to Saline, I hadn’t been a regular churchgoer in quite awhile and my faith was wobbly, but after getting a prompt and sincerely encouraging response to my inquiring email to Pastor Andrea, I walked in one cold January day and felt immediately warmly welcomed by all. This is an extremely open, loving, welcoming congregation I am happy and blessed to be a part of.
