Wonderful church. Christ at the center of all they do.
Father Polzin is very kind and welcoming, as are the members of the congregation, and he always preaches Christ.
They blend traditional and contemporary worship styles; something for everyone without compromising orthodox faith.
One of the most welcoming and friendly churches i have attended. Not only did they make me feel welcome, but it's also a very Christ centered church. I am glad I found them.
Friendly church, that cares about people and sharing Good News for Christ dying for you. Contemporary service is first Saturday of the month (Ignite Service) is usually a smaller service than the two Sunday services.
Several ministries including service to homeless shelter, quilting group makes quilts for local charities and Lutheran World Relief (on "Quilt Sunday" they have several quilts covering back of seat that they offer at a reasonable price for quilt group, some of their quilts go to families choosen for Giving Tree/ Thanksgiving basket. Another annual outreach includes raising funds for Kids Coalition Against Hunger food packets that are assembled with both members and non-members some are donated to charities in Michigan and some goes in the trailer for Kids Coalition Against Hunger to send where needed. Various other outreaches/ministries/events: Veterans Recognition Sunday, Vacation Bible School, Prayer Breakfast, Women's Book Club, hosting Upward Summer Basketball Camp, Picnic in the Pravilon, Lutheran World Relief: Baby Care Kits, Soap, and School Kits (each separate including the quilts). Children ministry, fellowship group that provides snacks between first service and Bible Classes; lots more.
We have been members of Christ Our King for about 10 years and have a 12 year old and a 10 year old. It is a good mix of traditional Lutheran worship and some more contemporary worship as well. The church teaches the Bible as the inerrant word of God and the pastors are approachable, dynamic, friendly, and excellent teachers. Some of the things we enjoy participating in are the youth events (both service and fellowship) and working at the homeless shelter once a month.
We just moved into the Saline,Michigan area in August from Madison, Wisconsin.
We already had a good home church back in Wisconsin, so we were concerned about joining a new church, in a new area. This church and their members have been treating us like old friends from day one.The minute we walked in,everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome. Their services are the perfect balance of Lutheran tradition and contemporary worship. Our kids are already making new friends as a result of their Sunday School and youth programs. The Pastors are wonderful messengers of God's message and love, and make you feel part of the church family from day one.
