Mill Pond Park

There's a fantastic fenced in grassy, shady area for dogs to run around, and one side of it is the water, so they can swim off leash. It's absolutely phenomenonal. I saw some obstacles for dog runs too, but we didn't try them out. Absolutely a jewel. Wish I had known of this place sooner.

Kids had a great time on the very large play structure, it's mostly made out of wood and was pretty cool for a playground, and across a large grassy area was I'm pretty sure was a dog play area. I can't be certain because it was cold and very wet that day and we didn't walk over to it. There's a nice river that runs by, and possibly trails to walk on. I will update my post next time we go again because we definitely will. And also there was restrooms but they were locked 🥺 but for those emergency restroom needs there was a porta potty there.

We love coming to this dog park! Be aware- if you don't have good control of your dog off leash this is NOT the park for you. It's fenced on 3 sides and open to the river so they can swim, but they can get to the other side. My dog runs right back to the entrance to be let back in or swims back around the fence, so it's not a problem for us. I think that's the reason it's set so far back from the parking lot, so when dogs do get to the other side of the fence they're far enough from the children's play area that they don't go investigating. I think it's a great set up! Bring a towel and your own water, and expect a tired, wet, muddy dog by the end of your visit :)

We don't have a dog anymore, she passed away. But when we did she enjoyed the dog park. We came this time for our nieces and nephews. They love the huge fort. And plenty of swings. It's such a great place for a picnic. And plenty of grass areas and picnic tables. There is a nice walking path to ride bikes. There is also little ankle high stream the kids can play in. And a Huron River for fishing on the other side. A great picnic shelter, you must reserve it for party's. 2 - Tire swings, 3 slides, baby swings, wooden cars, and jungle gym. There is also a balance beam. We just when today 12/8/2018 little cold, we stayed a 1/2 hour but the kids had so much fun.

Very cool dog park, I loved how one side of the enclosure is part of the pond. It wasn’t very busy, we were there by ourselves for the most part and then one other dog owner showed up. This was very pleasant compared to Swift Run and others that can get crowded. Overall a great experience and a very beautiful park. I will definitely take my dog here frequently.
