I've been living here for a couple months now, These are the things i like about the community. All of my neighbors are extremely friendly and the location is in a great spot. Its close to all the stores you'll need to live your daily lives. (Target, Walmart, Meijer, Home Depot, Lowes, Restaurants, Fast-food chains, Gas stations) Its also located off of I94and M23 and M23 and Michigan Ave. Which are roads that can take you anywhere.

The apartment themselves are good. Some of the things in the apartment was repaired poorly was prep bad. but with some work on my end the place cleaned up real nice.

Everything to sign for the apartment is done online and the 2 workers at the front desk replies real quick with in the hour/day.

The only downside its pricy where I come from but its due able for the area. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I feel like I could be giving more information with my first day handout about the complex. Like prices for covered parking, the community place time frames. What they offer. Just small things that can improve the community.

I have lived here for several years and never had any major issues. The apartments are comfortable and clean. Maintenance is always quick. I don't love that rent increases every year but I know that's not unique to this complex. I'd recommend Arbor Knoll to anyone looking for an apartment in the area. The proximity to the highways is SO nice.

This apt complex must have had different management several years ago because the stories I am reading from a few years ago do not match the experience I have had here. I have lived in this apt complex for nearly two and a half years and have had no major issues.

Sarah and Katie were extremely professional when helping me identify my preferred unit to match my budget and I was able to view the apartment and sign my lease very quickly. Everything is standard like other apt complexes - security deposit (my choice, I think, either $500 or $800, which is extremely flexible), and the usual paperwork. I was in my apt quickly.

Over the last two years Katie and Sarah have been supportive and extremely helpful. Katie, in particular, has seemed to go over and beyond in her management role to help me as a tenant while I was uncertain about a job move a year or so ago and needed to sign a six month lease for a short period. She was direct, transparent and helpful when I needed to work through a short period of time in my life. Further, they have completely renovated my apt since two years ago and now this apt complex offers state of the art interiors for a FRACTION of the price of Ann Arbor apartments. Over the last year I have had a new A/C unit, new digital thermostat, new (and very high quality) GE appliances (stove, refrigerator, dish washer), basically new washer and dryer and all new (and beautiful) kitchen and bathroom cabinets. I regret moving because this place has REALLY upped their game over the last year. I am moving to return to school and need to leave the state.

The maintenance staff is superb. Every time I needed something attended to, it was looked at and usually solved within the same day. The only exception was replacing my A/C unit, which required an outside contractor, otherwise, I knew that my request would be taken care of same-day, no questions about it.

Related to people posting about bugs or quality of the complex - the grounds are so well maintained, I was happy to have people over because they were always so impressed with how beautiful and well taken care of the complex is, as well as the landscaping. In the winter, I rarely needed to worry about the sidewalks being cleared and any other type of delay related to construction was always communicated early and clearly. For the bug thing - people need to be realistic. When you live in an apt complex within a community, you will have, by the nature of life, some bugs show up. Even Michigan homes have centipedes that somehow come in or a bug flies in when your door is open. When I saw an ant in my apt, I emailed Katie immediately and she had the contractor come in to spray my apartment's interior and exterior within a day, and voila, no more problems. People need to communicate to their complex about these issues - and especially here, Katie and her staff attend to things immediately. The community is peaceful, friendly and quiet and I found Katie to be of great assistance when I had questions about an issue I was experiencing with a tenant. They really do work, in my experience, to create a very peaceful and enjoyable living experience. Also, you get the standard amenities - pool, gym, etc, and they even throw community events.

For the quality you get at the very reasonable price (within the Ann Arbor area), you cannot beat this apt complex. I know everyone has their own experiences with different apt complexes, but Arbor Knoll, managed by Katie, has been a fantastic living experience.

We've lived here for a little under a year now & we enjoy it. I think the experiences below really vary & it really depends on your apartment. The finishes are a little dated, but they are renovating as people move out, and my neighbor's newly finished apt looks great (stainless steel appliances, new cabinets, new carpet, and new counters)...a little jealous lol.

I think people need to realize apts are a business & you can't replace everything that breaks...so Maintenance does try to do what they can to fix broken things.

    PROS:
    - spacious
    - quiet -- walls are not paper thin
    - accepting of bigger dogs
    - staff is professional & courteous
    - maintenance always comes to fix things within 24 hours
    - close to freeways
    - grounds are well maintained
    - best bang for your buck so far in the Arbor/Ypsi area.

    CONS:
    - Parking (unless you opt for the shed -- which we did)
    - getting in/out of complex due to traffic on US-12
    - needs better landscaping around some buildings
    - dingy carpet in our apt
    - the poop bags in the stands outside are always empty
    - washer/dryer in our unit is pretty harsh

    RESOLVED ISSUES:
    - Pet owners not picking up. Resolved mostly after apt sent out mail saying they'd start charging those who didn't pick up.
    - We had some bug issues -- but we sprayed Raid & that took care of it.
    - Water heater kept going out. This was eventually replaced after 2-3 months.

Overall I would recommend this place to anyone -- couples, older students, young families, young professionals, pet owners etc. I suggest getting a 2nd floor apt as its quieter. And definitely opt for the car shed if you don't like hunting for parking at night.
