What can I say about Michigan Learning Community (MLC)? I could never ever thank them enough for how much they have helped my family. If you have a neurotypical child, you know how challenging it can be. We had tried several other ABA providers before MLC. As soon as we met the owner of MLC, he put us at ease and we knew that our experience was going to be different. My son was (and still is) a handful. The school didn't know how to help him, we didn't know what to do, his therapists and doctors had exhausted their ideas. Then, along came John. John acknowledged how difficult things were......but he provided so much hope, encouragement, respite, and best of all; he provided RESULTS. He goes SO FAR above and beyond for his clients, it is unreal. We have called him at 1am in emergency situations and he answers. He has attended IEP meetings, communicated helpful ideas to my son's teachers. He has created Dungeons & Dragons clubs for the kids at MLC to get together and work on social skills in a fun way. He makes promises and keeps them. Our techs have all been amazing. They put up with SO MUCH from our family. We are a crazy bunch......but we are getting a little less crazy with the help of MLC. My husband and I were on the verge of divorce (the rate is so high for parents of kids with special needs). Because of the assistance that MLC has provided, we are in a much better place now. John does the work that he does because he genuinely cares about the kids and their families. He is one of the best people I have ever met......I joke with my friends and family that he was a godsend. I do not know where we would be without him (& I don't even want to imagine it!)When I see these reviews that are anything less than 5 stars, I seriously doubt they are real. Obviously from a disgruntled former employee? Certainly not from anyone who has experienced MLC as a client. (one mentioned how hot the building is......maybe they are referencing that ONE warm day that we had in early April.....but then it snowed the next day. I have been in the bldg all year and have never noticed a temperature issue).I wouldn't normally put this info in a review, but my family is extremely liberal. I have talked with the owner and techs extensively about this (they are in our home for many hours per week) and I have never ever EVER heard John use derogatory language towards any race or against the LGBTQ community. I would not allow that in my home or around my kids. I do not believe it (again.....sounds like a disgruntled employee). If you have a child on the spectrum and are at the end of your rope, please contact MLC. I have referred so many people to them (parents with kiddos with special needs tend to gravitate towards each other). They have changed our lives for the better and KNOW that John would do the same for any kids he works with.
Workers are all very nice and will work with you! Amazing company, they really care about their kids
