L George's Coney Island

My husband and I like to frequent this location for breakfast on the weekend. The food is always good and the establishment is clean. The staff is good depending on what day you come in. It is a smaller Coney Island — so it’s a little tight when you enter just be aware. Overall — good stuff!

This place was alright. The service was very personable (toward me) and the food was very hot. Those were two of the best qualities of this place if you ask me.

I came in here before a job that I had to do in the area. I just wanted to keep it cheap and simple. So I ordered a coffee and a corned beef egg roll.

The place was very busy and the clientele resembled the area quite accurately being that there are 4 different cities right in that area. One of the customers and the waitress had a rude exchange of words, which I thought was quite entertaining.

The place was not clean but not necessarily from the lack of care from the staff. For instance, the bathrooms were immaculate and could eat dinner off of the toilet seat practically. However, there are a lot of people in and out sitting or waiting for carryout; some affluent, some low lives. This place is in a very diverse area. There are also many blue collar workers in the area that do "dirty jobs". Therefore, being it's a very busy place with such a diverse crowd, the place does get dirty faster than a cozy little diner.

With a little bit of time and confusion with the egg roll sitting on the counter, it was finally served to me. I'm actually glad it did sit on the counter for a minute or two because that thing was HOT. And what I found amusing was that it was in the shape of a square. They should have called it an egg square lol. This egg roll, or egg square, was served with 1000 Island dressing.

As I finished up, the crowd started to die down a little and I got to taking with the waitress. She was very personable and friendly. She even gave me a foam cup of coffee to go, which isn't really that special, but still considerate.

Overall, this place can get very busy with people dining and getting carryout. The area itself is very busy. The food is not great but decent. The waitresses are very personable but seem to be in over their head at times. But if you are looking to just fill the void and get a bite to eat, then this may be a place to consider.

I had a wonderful first experience here! Gloria was attentive, friendly, had a endearing personality. They just celebrated their Grand Opening a couple weeks ago and have a steady flow of customers for take out and dine in. The food was hot and fresh. It was served immediately and didn't sit under warming lights. Drinks were served in extra large glasses and we were offered carryout cups at the end of our meal. Overall, it was a delightful experience. I recommend this coney island to anyone wanting to enjoy local fare.
