  I've been living in Coogan for alittle over a year now - I love it, its my first time on my own and I mostly keep to myself so other people don't pose an issue. My dog and I enjoy the space and I've not had really any issues with the apartment itself.
  
  There is rumored drug use and favoritism, and of course you'll always have drama or people who don't mesh well with others - but even then it's not so bad. I'm even used to people letting their doors slam several times a day.
  
  They've cleaned up the place in the last few years, and are constantly trying to improve and keep it safe and solid for everyone to live here. There are bi-monthly bed bug inspections which I think are a great idea considering how much of an issue Wayne County overall is having with bedbugs. They keep up on inspections with making sure things work as well.
  
  It's not going to be a 5 star place because let's face it - you can find complaints about the highest quality place. But Coogan is like it's own little family in a small city. Alot of people here are really great to befriend, and you can always count on someone helping you or doing thoughtful gestures. You'll be really well taken care of here.

  I have been a resident here at Coogan Terrace for 4(years) now and I have to admit that I am well pleased with my place of residency. We are about to undergo a Mass Renovation " A BRAND NEW LOOK!" and it's all contributed to the hard work of Our Executive Director Ms.Cynthia Telfer her staff, The Melvindale Housing Commission, and of course "THE WONDERFUL PATIENCE AND COOPERATION OF THE COOGAN TERRACE RESIDENTS!!! Yes we are a "Little city...but with a BIG HEART❤ and we are looking for Greater things in the City of Melvindale! A City that Prats together...Stays together! YES we are still on the Map and excelling with our innovative thoughts and ideals to make an impact AS WE SPEAK!!!! GREAT JOB COOGAN TERRACE!!! Ms.Annette Taylor

  Coogan Terrace is well maintained.  It is conveniently located in downtown Melvindale.  For friends and family coming to visit it is easy to find and get to from I-275 and other major roadways.  The staff here is well versed in their work and strive to give they best they have to the residents.  There are a variety of activities for residents to participate in - not only on the site itself but in Melvindale.  The Melvindale Public Library is very close by and for those not able to make the trip regularly there are services provided.  The place is kept neat and clean.  The lobby has a modern look reminiscent of an arboretum and is an attractive sun room.
  
  There is a courtyard in the back and property is bordered by the local school's athletic field as well as an attractive border of trees in a treeline along the rear of the property.

  I am a resident at this location, and I'm happy to say that being a Melvindale citizen (A small City with a "BIG" heart!) I am pleased with the staffing, and my home, we have a place that I'm glad to call home. We have access to a library with computers, a community room, lunch on a daily basis if you wish, scupture landscaping, a lot of activities, and not to mention we can participate in Housing board meetings​( public comments) Melvindale is a small City with a BIG heart 😇🤗...Ms. A Taylor
