“I love black elemntary! It's a hidden gem of the WCS district! My son was a nervous kid who hadn't played with others before going to kindergarten so naturally we were very nervous about him starting! The teachers and staff picked up on it the first day and did everything in their power to calm him and make him comfortable instead of calling me. He came home proud and has never had a problem since! That meant the world to us. He regularly talks to his principal who knows most of the kids by their first names! They do all sorts of fun activities like Trunk or Treat for Halloween, Hawk Hustle, pancake dinner w/a chef from food network who also has a world record. To name a few. I would highly recommend Mrs.Mahon for a kindergarten teacher she REALLY notices your child's strengths and acknowledges them! This was the first year after Filmore closed and they sent the kids to Black I was worried how they would handle the influx of students, it's like it NEVER happened they handled it beautifully! As you can see I can't say enough about this school you'd be lucky to have your kids attend black elementary.. Thank you Black for your hard work it definitely shows!!”

Having heard great things about this place, we decided to take our 2 year-old here even though she would be the youngest after having recently become Safari Kid under a new lead teacher. They have retained some fantastic teachers from the previous naming, and also acquired a great energetic lead teacher. All the teachers here genuinely care about the kids, and they love their job, and it shows. Our daughter acquired new skills and better control and discipline in just the first 2 weeks. They are doing a good mix of building skills on regular activities as well as doing new things to keep things exciting and challenging for the kids. There is also a very healthy balance of mingling with older kids a few times during the day, which we observe is beneficial for our child. In our second month, but so far, nothing less than great.”

“Despite what people say I like this school. I went here for 8 years! They offer a lot of after school activities. I love the staff. The teachers are very nice and helpful. I was honestly sad when I found out I had to switch schools because I will miss my teachers, they helped me a lot, they worked very well with covid online schooling. A lot of people complain of bullying and mistreatment, however they handle this the best they can. I had some issues with my friends and we had a group therapy session with the school social worker! If you are looking for a school for your child this is by far the best school in the district!”

Not many people in daycare have the right temperament to deal with a classroom full of wild 3 year olds. I don’t know how she does it, but she’s always so even keel and incredibly calm. If you’re lucky enough to have your child in her classroom you will not be disappointed!”
