As a former player who trained with Dave and served as a trainer with him, I can say with certainty that no one thinks about hockey training the way Dave does.
From the on-ice instruction to the off-ice dryland cross-training, his program covers all aspects of the game to make you an all around better player without turning you into a robot.
The other programs I have been apart of are mundane compared to Dave’s approach. I would dread going to other camps and clinics knowing their focus was so singular with the same drills every time.
I looked forward to heading to Build Your Game every session and would recommend him for any player who loves the game and is looking to improve.
BYG is a great experience! Dave will push you to be better with each session. He uses a great combination of training during off-ice sessions that translates to the on-ice sessions. If you want to grow your skills, work with Dave. He will make you bigger, faster, stronger, and improve your puck work
This is my son’s third year at BYG, starting when he was just seven, and there is a reason we keep coming back. His stick handling and shooting skills have improved ten fold, and he has fun on top of it. Dave is an attentive and active coach who cares about the kids, correcting and helping them so they can achieve optimal technique. I would recommend BYG’s training to give your kids more confidence and an edge on their game!
I absolutely love Build Your Game, it is a more skill based program which is nice. Combining boys and girls is also helpful and made me want to step it up as a hockey player and there are many very good boy and girl players who attend this program which is great help for others and they keep coming back so obviously it’s working. I love the duration of different activities, such as shooting and stick handling, to workout, to going on the ice and applying the skills we are learning. I think Dave is an amazing coach with a lot of knowledge to be shared and he does an excellent job at showing the players what he knows and how to apply it. The other coaches are also very approachable and have skills to be shared. I think this is an amazing program for any age or level of hockey.
I have had my son in Dave's program during the season for 3 years and two years of his summer program. The difference I have seen in his play is unbelievable. I have had other parents even notice and say things like "his game has improved, he handles the puck well, etc..! Dave makes learning fun and my son loves going there.
I would recommend his program.
