(July 8, 2018, 8:42 am)Wonderful trails and a lovely play area. There's a parking area next to the play area, which is set back from the road, and the other sides of the park are surrounded by people's back yards. I appreciate when parks make it more difficult for children to run into the streets.The trails are abundant and lovely, offering many beautiful glimpses into nature. The trails do cross several streets, but they tend to be cul-du-sacs , or other slowly traveled residential streets. The park and the trails enhance the neighborhood.
(November 15, 2016, 2:51 pm)This is a wonderful neighborhood park! It has a "big kid" playground and a separate "little kid" playground. On nice days, there can be a lot of kids playing on both areas. There is also a very large open green space that is great for playing ball games, flying kites or just running around. The paths that loop around through the forests are great. You can keep going on the paths under Hanson Blvd over to Woodland Oaks park (creek, forest, smaller playground) or take a connection path over to Bunker Hills Regional park.

About the Park. Prairie Oaks Park is one of the newest developed parks in Coon Rapids. Construction began early in 2003 and was completed in 2004. Amenities include a large play area, paved walking loop, and a picnic shelter. The park is located north of Highway 14 (Main Street) from Hanson Boulevard at 127th Avenue and Drake Street.
