My partner and I decided that instead of paying over a grand a month to an apartment complex, we could pay less to have something of our own. More bedrooms, more bathrooms, more space and a yard. We'll, I have to start by saying that Kelly, the park manager, and the on-site maintenance team are FANTASTIC. I purchased a newly renovated home here this year and Kelly was there every step of the way to help. She provided us a tour and gave us contact information for a mortgage company so we could purchase our home as easily as possible. She was there anytime we had questions and was honest and open all throughout. It took just over a month after looking at the home to get approved for our mortgage and close on the house. I could not have asked for a better experience buying a home and highly recommend Sunrise Estates to anyone looking for a home largely due to Brakemeier taking ownership in the last 10 years and cleaning it up around here with Kelly at the reigns. She, and they, have done wonders here.
It is a very open place, paved roads and driveways. The yards are smallish but are rather neat and tidy. The neighborhood is friendly and they watch out for each other.
I would recommend checking out the place first, because some lots are larger than others. And the town of Stacy Minnesota where it is located is small, quaint but very nice...but also close to shopping areas as well as hospitals and such.
New owners working on making this trailer park an excellent place to live. (Hoping they work on the roads a little more tho). Kids play area added is a great touch. They're moving in new trailers as old trailers are well passed their prime. Looking good.
This is an amazing place to live! They went out of their way to help my family even before we moved in. Kelly knew that my disabled daughter and I had been battling homelessness after escaping a domestic violence situation, and were desperately trying to find a good place to start over. They had an eviction happen and immediately offered me the place at a great place. The owner even reduced the price when I said I would be willing to do the cleanup myself!
The trailer was trashed, I don't know how anyone could have lived like that! I was provided with extra trash bins, allowed to begin cleaning before even paying the first month's lot rent, and all furniture/trash that was too big to fit in the bins was hauled away free of charge. Kelly even found us a refrigerator when I told her the one in the trailer didn't work and had her husband deliver it and haul away the old one! They have gone above and beyond what the average management company would ever do, and continue to ask if we need anything.
Repairs to this place are going to be an ongoing project as the former tenants did a lot of damage to the place, but after a solid month of work the home is now liveable and I can officially say we've found a good home that is safe and, because I own this place instead of renting more than just the lot itself, no one can take it away from us!
My only wish is that I could put up a fence so that my daughter and my dog could play in the yard without me having to worry about either of them wandering off, but that's a minor issue. Other than that I have nothing but gratitude towards the park owners and management!
I have be a resident of Sunrise Estates for a year this month. I am a property manager myself and I am also on the Parks and Rec committee for the city of Stacy. I love my home, my yard and my community. I appreciate "all the rules" and have no issue complying with any of them. No rules set forth thus far seem unreasonable and all are for the benefit of the community. Every time I have had a problem the maintenance guys are quick to help me (even though they technically did not have to) I also broke my knee last year and was laid up for a few months. Twice I was asked how my recovery was going and if I needed anything. Classy!
Believe me, I know how hard management change is on a community, I've take over several, and have been bought out by two. Once I was the only person out of a staff of 20 that kept their job. It's hard on everyone. Residents and Management alike.
I would be the first to chime in if I thought the park was being run haphazardly or unfairly but I can assure you that at least from my perspective, for this past year it's being run exceptionally well.
Sunrise Estates is a nice place to live with reasonable management that really seems to care. Do not hesitate to buy a home here. I implore you not to listen to reviews that are not specific and are based on emotion. In my experience residents with issues accepting and complying with new rules are the first ones to move on leaving a brighter and brighter community behind with each move.
Special thanks to Kelly, Sara and the maintenance staff for being so helpful to me.
