Metropolitan Endodontics

Second time I have had a root canal done and I’m fortunate enough to have had Dr. Finley each time. Extremely knowledgeable and obviously skilled in what he does and I would recommend him to anyone. Thankfully never felt a thing and was pain free the next day. His assistant was instrumental in keeping me informed and calm through out the process, can honestly say I have never been given an opportunity to chose my own music for any procedure in the past. I have to say the entire staff was very welcoming and made my experience top notch!

I was extremely impressed with the compassion and care shown by everyone from checkin though completion of the root canal. I had an appointment scheduled for the next day for a root canal. I spent the previous night in pain, couldn’t sleep, and found no relief in ibuprofen or Tylenol. I called first thing in the morning to seek a day of appointment. Unfortunately they couldn’t move the appointment, but gave me the option to see the dentist in 20 minutes from my call to relieve some of the pressure on my tooth and I leaped at the opportunity as i was sleep deprived and in pain. From check-in to getting into the chair they were compassionate and empathetic to the pain I was feeling. During the examination the dentist could see the pain that I was in and decided to adjust the schedule to facilitate a root canal on the spot. I walked out of there with the pain relieved and my tooth fixed. I would not have been able to bear another day and night of pain and no sleep. I am extremely grateful for the work they did. I highly recommend this office. Everyone from check-in to check-out made this painful experience (the tooth needing the root canal) as painless as possible. I will definitely be going back and using them next time I need their services.

I cannot recommend Metro Endodontics and Dr. Finley enough. I had a temporary crown sitting too high two years ago and the pain was becoming unbearable, so I was referred to Dr. Finley by my dentist and he took an x-ray (more on this later) and confirmed I was in need of a root canal. He was able to perform the root canal right then and there, and it was completely painless from start to finish. Even the novocaine injections were painless. The root canal solved all my pain and I was like a new man.

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, and I had a cracked tooth that needed a crown. Once again, after the temporary crown was placed, my tooth became incredibly painful, leading to high doses of Tylenol and Advil and very little sleep. I was able to get in to see Dr. Finley within 24 hours of calling, and again, after determining I needed a root canal, he was able to perform it right then and there. Again, zero pain, start to finish. And again, I was like a new man afterwards.

I'd always dreaded a root canal because people always talk about them like they're just awful, but my experience at Metro Endo with Dr. Finley was the complete opposite. He gives you plenty of anesthetic (plan on not eating for 5 hours afterward) and doesn't rush to start the procedure until you're comfortably numb.

My one caution would be, they will likely want to take a fancy high tech x-ray, and most insurances don't cover it. The out of pocket cost is $250 and they collect payment before you leave, so just be aware of that going into it.

Thank God for Metropolitan Endodontics! I was in excruciating pain and needed an emergency root canal. Other places I called (including the Dental Emergency room) couldn't get me in until next week. At this point the pain was uncontrollable and I couldn't wait. Luckily I called Metropolitan Endodontics. When I explained what was going on, the office staff quickly found me an appointment at the Woodbury location as they could see me the fastest (that same day), but she called back within the hour saying the Burnsville location closest to my home had a cancellation and they could get me in even sooner.

Staff was kind and helpful through the whole visit. Dr. Finley and assistant Carrie performed my root canal and made sure that I was comfortable and pain free before starting. When it was over he checked to make sure that it wasn't too painful and I told him the root canal was the most comfortable I'd been in two days! No pain, they worked quickly and efficiently.

Obviously, no one ever wants to get a root canal, but if I ever need another one, they will be my first call. I cannot say enough good things about the team at Metropolitan Endodontics!

And I learned an important lesson not to ignore tooth pain as it can very quickly become much worse ;)
