Love this middle school! Awesome leadership and teachers. My daughter is a young 7th grader and has thrived at Jackson. She has connected with some nice friends and enjoys school. They encourage interactive learning which keeps my daughter engaged. Good communication here from the principal and his staff of educators. The observatory is incredible.
After finishing two years in Jackson, I believe it is a school which will benefit anyone who goes here. Harassment is generally kept to a minimum, and there are groups of people for any person to join. Whether if you're a basketball freak or someone who spends all their time being a bookworm, you'll find others to connect with.
Community aside, the atmosphere itself was always enjoyable as well. Teachers are all average or above average, which means there are only a few who may be severely disliked. Thankfully, they are typically out of the ordinary, which means the majority of teachers are respectable people who properly commit to their job. If you're a student or parent, you will probably find a teacher or two that will be your favorite(s). Personally, many people (along with me) enjoyed Mrs.Noble who teaches Advanced English in 8th grade. If you end up having her, then you'll enjoy the hour with her.
While the school wasn't necessarily a challenge for me (not to brag), it was clear that they didn't tolerate laziness. I rarely did my math homework when I took Geometry, and I was criticized for doing so. Will I change? I'm not sure, but their advice would probably help someone who is/will be in a much stickier situation.
I'll probably go back to Jackson to volunteer. After moving from a terrible charter school and being a rather strange fellow in seventh grade (not that I'm any more normal), it feels satisfying to actually enjoy school and the people around you.
A school that recognizes talent in students, and strives to foster and grow that talent. Amazing staff and educators. Communication is top notch from teachers and administrators, to the parents and guardians. I am very pleased with this school.
Great school and teachers. Mr hagerty has really turned it around. My son has completed it and my daughter is half way thorough.
