Tonka Bay Town Hall

I long as I’ve been in the area, I’d been drawn to this special building on a hill. The City of Tonka Bay, its quaint red-brick city hall building, and its history is fascinating. From the days of the famous Tonka Bay Hostel that was in its day all glamour and modern to its present resort town feel.

This property on lower Lake Minnetonka serves the many homes that occupy the prestigious shoreline on the iconic lake. This morning as I was following one of the faithful trucks that work to keep up Tonka Bay, I followed as I saw them pull into their maintenance facilities. They really do an exceptional job of servicing home and business owners and it occurred to me to stay and say thank you by writing a positive review.
Often when coming and going, we see one of the city crew out and about busy doing tasks that city at its best.

Maintaining the street lighting, sidewalks, and beautiful trails are well done. We even like their choice of light bulbs that put the illumination on the street and seem thoughtful of how it might shine into resident homes.

Tonka Bay’s City Hall serves voters and gives the community a voice. Issues like updating its water main, which hasn’t been replaced since 1974, are being addressed. In recent years when there have been mainline breaks, the crews are on it immediately to assess and make repairs. For those of us coming and going, I want to say thanks for being quick on the job and for setting up alerts for nearby occupants and drivers.

For anyone considering to live in Tonka Bay, I'd say "its a pretty exceptional place"!
