  I honestly cannot say enough about Gordon James! It’s difficult to know where to start. We started the process with them YEARS before we were ready to move forward with building our dream home. We never once felt pressure from them, unlike other builders. They feel like family to us. As a woman, I have felt a paternalistic attitude with a few of the builders that we interviewed, which was never the case with Gordon James. I felt listened to, respected, and valued as I was the primary person working with them. Grant was extremely responsive, empathetic to the stress of building during a global pandemic, rolls with the punches if anything needed changing, and is just plain great at what he does. The subs that they work with are top notch, professional, friendly, and provide amazing workmanship. We couldn’t be happier. We will be forever grateful to them for truly building us our dream home.

  After interviewing several builders, we selected Gordon James for our new build in Minnesota. For us, they were just right - not to big and not too small. We worked primarily with Grant and Jeremy on the project; who both showed a strong work ethic, a high level of integrity, and great attention to detail throughout the process. Even though we lived out of state during the construction phase of the project, the communication with the team was always responsive and timely. We were especially pleased with the effective and professional partnership that Grant forged with the designer that we selected for the project. We couldn't be happier with the end result!

  Some friends of ours built their home with Gordon James Construction, and we admired it so much that Gordon James was the only builder we talked to about building our home. The people at Gordon James are really thorough in their approach to projects. They take the time to listen to clients, to carefully plan out projects, and to insure that everything turns out as expected, down to the small details. We were especially impressed with our project manager, Grant, who was readily accessible to us throughout the project to discuss any concerns and answer any questions we had, and who worked diligently to make sure the end product met our expectations. We are extremely pleased with our home and highly recommend Gordon James to anyone undertaking a home building or remodeling project.

  Gordon James Builders worked with us from the very beginning, envisioning our new custom home build, and were with us until the end when they handed over the keys. Found them to be extremely relatable and responsive, walking us through each step in the process and following up as we moved closer to completion. We love our home and are extremely happy with the end result! Great people, great company!
