Outstanding park with a an "up-north" feel right in the city of Minneapolis.
Easily accessible from the blue line light rail. Ample parking is also available, but appeared to fill up quickly on the Saturday we visited.
The star of the park is Minehaha Falls, a very large and majestic waterfall. Lots of opportunity to view the waterfall and take pictures from different vantages. There are also many pleasant walking trails, picnic areas, and other historic attractions in the park.
Sea Salt is an excellent seafood restaurant located right inside the park, offering a plethora of fresh and tasty seafood options. The line gets long but it moves quickly.
All in all a great place to spend a few hours to take a walk, see an impressive waterfall, and enjoy some tasty seafood.
Real nice little park with top quality falls. Quick walk to the falls but some longer hikes too. Some quick food available and beer. Lots of stairs if you want to go down to the bottom of the falls.
A beautiful place to visit. The waterfall is amazing. I only hope that they can fix a nice path to the waterfall, or hopefully just create a beautiful area that people can walk and sit. The path to the waterfall is narrow and almost closed off. Lots of walking trails by the river and it's just gorgeous. Can be crowded but I definitely recommend. My kids love playing in the river.
Great place to visit. There is a trail that leads down to a gorge which passes lovely pools and stone bridges to a sandy beach. Like to have a picnic? There are many tables, grills and pavilions for rent. There are many activities to do at the park. You could spend an entire day at Minnehaha Falls Regional Park.
Minnehaha is always a great experience. The hiking and biking trails make it a fun family outing. Take a look at the Falls and then walk around the parks; it truly is beautiful. Just as an FYI there are quite a few stairs so be prepared to get your steps in🙂.
