Kari is very understanding and caring! I felt that I could trust her completely! What I love the most is that she is so evidence-based for her care! She can do things from give IV hydration, antibiotics for group B strep and perform neonatal resuscitation including intubation!! I felt so safe in her care. She is a home birth nurse practitioner which is almost unheard of!! She is always up on the best practice for her field and she is always reading new research. I felt like I could tell her anything, even gross stuff! She is truly a unicorn in her field! Strongly recommend her services!!!

Beginning with a pre-conception visit all the way to the end of my fourth trimester, Thrive Midwives gave me autonomy over my body and agency to make informed decisions while always providing evidence based care for me and my baby. Kari is a master at holding space for birthing people and empowering families every single step of the way. She brought reverence, humor, and a grounding presence to each interaction. Her wisdom and support throughout my homebirth made it an incredibly safe and peaceful experience and I’ll never forget the way she so respectfully treated me and my newborn baby. On top of everything, she’s an incredible advocate for LGBTQ families like mine and we always felt very seen and safe under her care! I will always be tremendously grateful that Thrive Midwives exists in the world.

The day I found Thrive Midwives was the day I found hope that I could safely birth at home. Following a pregnancy with serious medical complications in our newborn, I knew I needed a Nurse Midwife I could trust who would make informed decisions and execute care with a high level of proficiency. I believed in Kari the moment I met her and continued to build my trust in her over the months leading up to (and past) my due date! Welcoming Kari into our home felt so natural, she was accepting and kind to our children and exudes warmth and compassion in every interaction. Not only was I able to have the home birth of my dreams, but I have turned many friends to Kari for the home birth of their dreams too!

I have put off writing this review for a full year because I didn't have the words to convey what Kari means to my family. We had an absolutely wonderful prenatal, birth, and postnatal experience. Kari brought kindness, grace, humor, and a huge pile of medical knowledge to every interaction. About a month after my son was born, I was having some concerning symptoms. I called Kari and she calmly explained that I should head to the hospital. She met us there, made sure I was able to properly tell my story, researched possible breastfeeding implications of my situation, and held my very heavy 5 week old while my husband drove our older son home. In the end, I was fine, but her presence with us that night made a very stressful and scary situation seem manageable. We sought a midwife--and we found the very best in Kari--but we got a dear friend in the process.

We feel so fortunate to have found Kari to support us as we welcomed our first little one this past July. We knew from the moment we met her that her passion and calm presence were exactly what we were looking for in our care team. It is so clear that Kari is in the field she is meant to be in, from her breadth of knowledge to her years of experience, she brings so much to the table and makes you feel heard and cared for every step of the way. Our pregnancy, birth, and postpartum were filled with joy because she showed us how to trust ourselves and listen to my body and baby. We could not be more grateful that she was by our side and would recommend her care and services to anyone looking for an evidence-based provider who will treat them with respect, kindness, and compassion.
