Visited during the Gingerbread house display. Amazing!
There new event space is great! The lighting from all the windows is so beautiful. Super cute lounge furniture included. Great kitchen for the caterer. Bonus on having additional breakout rooms if needed for volunteers or a dressing room during the event too.
Gingerbread Wonderland was much fun. Very neat construction and a train runs through the Gingerbread village. Small coffee shop has various items for sale.
Went to see the gingerbread houses. It was delightful to see the children and adults' creation. Festive atmosphere. There is a small cafe and gift shop.
I saw the inside of brand new Norway House for the first time at its Grand Opening on October 15 when Queen Sonja was there to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The visit was a once in a lifetime experience and may be the only time I will meet royalty. I returned to Norway House two weeks later for a lag meeting at the cafe which is run by Ingebretsen's Scandinavian Gifts & Food. The coffee and food were excellent. The building is contemporary with lots of windows and space to hold special events such as musical performances, presentations on Norwegian culture, book talks, etc. The Norway House library and archives are still under construction. When it opens, people can access Norwegian genealogy and cultural materials. The space will also have a family-friendly, interactive Discovery Center. Highly recommend this neighborhood jewel and gathering space right next to Mindekirken. On site parking is available.
