Ike’s in Minnetonka has a cozy, classic, club-like atmosphere. The table and booth layout works well for groups or an intimate meal. The lounge has many TVs showing sports without feeling like a noisy sports bar. They have a good selection of craft cocktails, wine, and beers. My wife loved the Asian Pear cocktail with the sidecar carafe. The menu ranges from steaks and seafood to gourmet burgers and sandwiches. On our most recent visit, the French Dip with fries was excellent and generous enough to take home a portion for the next day’s lunch. The staff was professional and very attentive.
Love the food, atmosphere, drinks and servers. Will absolutely be back. This is Blue cheese wedge salad, French onion soup w/ Smoked Bourbon Manhattan. Finished w/ Cinnamon bread pudding which was amazing.
Delicious food, great service and a very nice set up. I like my meat well done and many times when I order out, it's like chewing a shoe, but here the pork chop was still juicy and tasty, even well done. I was very happy with it. The veggies and the potatoes were also extremely good, so totally thumbs up. The only thing that was better was the on the spot service, not too often, not too rare, just perfect. I was really pleasantly surprised.
We enjoyed Ike's. Love the atmosphere and the server. I had the ribs. Very good. My hubby had the New York Strip. He said it was great. We each had 2 cocktails which were very good.
It’s too easy to miss Ike’s if you’re looking for a dining experience while driving along Highway 7. And it is really a gem in the Minnetonka/Excelsior area.
While its well known for its 8oz filet mignon, I think fewer are aware of the fantastic pork chop they serve up! And at only $24! The au gratin potatoes and asparagus sides are two of my favorites. The Walleye Almondine is also a top choice. The vegetable medley is unusually well seasoned and served at that point of perfection – not too overdone and soft.
We’ve managed without reservations several times, but you do want one during peak hours. Check their Google Knowledge Graph to see the best days/hours to go. The eggs benedict is quite generous, coming with unlimited pancakes, bacon, sausage and hash browns. If you are really hungry, it is quite the deal in town. Their Beet Salad is perfect for lunch; it comes on a bed of spinach with lots of roasted beets, red onion, goat cheese, spiced pecan nuggets in a balsamic vinaigrette. The $16 cost is fair enough.
The patio has been well planned with a high-top side and then across the front where there several seating choices. We enjoyed the visual and the sounds of the beautiful romantic 3-tier water fountain. There is a sweet little brook that runs along the west side among some flowers and shrubs.
I recommend "The Weekender" Bloody Mary. It comes wonderfully packed with all things that can go in a Bloody and tastes freshly made versus like it came from a mix. We shared a rack of short ribs once and found them very tasty.
There is additional parking along the street just south of Highway 7. It can be challenging to find parking during peak hours. Our service has been consistently good. Staff are friendly, may even joke a bit and seek to offer a professional service
