Grace Y. Bunday

Grace Bunday is an excellent piano teacher and accomplished pianist. I have been taking lessons from her for eight years. I am an unusual piano student in two ways: I’m a professor at the University of Minnesota who has taken up piano later in life, and I am also a visually impaired person. Grace was willing to take me on as a student and to work out methods for accommodating my special needs. For example, she devotes substantial effort to verbalizing the piano notation as an audio recording so that I can transcribe the score into Braille music.

Grace often refers to the accomplishments of her other students; her dedication to all of them is obvious.

Grace has an infectious enthusiasm for music and a deep commitment to its importance in our culture. These traits are conveyed in her teaching style. My lessons are motivating and challenging. She encourages me to exceed my own expectations in music.

Sometimes, I learn by listening to her play. She is a talented musician. It’s a joy for me to hear her play the piano!

Grace Bunday has been an amazing piano teacher for our children (ages 12 and 14). She is an accomplished pianist with incredible musical credentials. Her gentle, friendly demeanor creates a non-threatening environment conducive to learning.

I truly feel that Grace Bunday is a musical angel that stepped in and saved our children. Over the past year, Grace has taught them not only piano technique and theory, but how to play musically and the results are amazing. This would not have happened without Grace.

Grace is very accommodating to the needs of our family. She provides lessons in our home allowing our children to continue their piano studies while participating in competitive sports. More importantly, Grace has inspired our children so that they truly want to practice and reach higher levels.

Grace is a gifted instructor and a true professional. Our children enjoy having her as their instructor. We greatly appreciate the impact she has had and wholeheartedly recommend Grace Bunday as an outstanding piano instructor.

Grace is a gifted teacher! I have been taking lessons for 7 years and come farther in my playing than I thought possible. I had a fundamental knowledge of piano and my goal was to play more musically. It required a different approach, and her perseverance makes me understand that my previous teachers did not think it was possible! Grace is flexible and will adjust her teaching to your needs, goals and personality. She goes beyond the basics and teaches an approach to the piano that includes practicing, playing, and goal setting. I have been lucky enough to have many lessons in many different activities and Grace is in the top 1% of all instructors I have encountered

Grace is a talented piano teacher and is perfect for our kid who likes her approach to teaching and enjoys every lessons. Grace tries various teaching techniques to make lessons interesting for the kids and answers their questions with patience. However, she also pays attention to details and makes sure kids know all parts of their piece before they are 'passed'. Grace also is a great human being and kids can learn about hard work, discipline, work ethics and passion for music from her. We are happy we found her.

Grace is a wonderful piano teacher! She is incredibly talented and knowledgeable in various methods for teaching piano. She is patient and kind. Grace’s students develop into amazing performers, in part due to her organization of monthly piano recitals at nursing homes. We are so lucky to have Grace teach our boys piano!
