My family has been going to the Drive In for decades. Every item on their menu is worth ordering. There is something special about their root beer, too. Eating here in the summer is a quintessential Minnesotan experience.

Earlier this year, the Drive In celebrated its 60th anniversary. Generations of local teenagers have worked at the Drive In for their first jobs and families have enjoyed their food and events for decades.

If you only get to visit the Drive In once, stop by on a Thursday evening when the restaurant hosts its weekly classic car show. The parking stalls are lined with beautiful cars and at the right table you can watch them rev their engines as they come and go. Don’t let the longer lines dissuade you from this family-friendly event, you will not be disappointed.

The Drive In closes during the winter, which only serves to make the locals more excited for its reopening each spring. Summer is king and the Minnetonka Drive In is all the proof you need.

Loved the old-fashioned feel they had. Sevice was good. Food was great!

Great place to go to get a good burger or there chicken is really good also. They are very fast and friendly.
