My mom was recently transferred to Cerenity TCU after a fall and partial hip replacement. The facility was recommended by her hospital, and they were also the only ones that responded to a referral for a new patient. From the start, the entire staff was kind, responsive, efficient and recognized our worries and concerns about leaving our mom. She had never been to a facility and had lived with us for several years before her recent fall. A nurse (Jessica) called us that evening and explained that she was able to communicate well with my mom (who is mute due to aphasia) and reassured us she would be mom's point person in case of communication gaps. She said that mom gripped her hand when she told her and smiled. This was great news and so reassuring. Ellen, in ADMIN, met us outside at drop off and was so kind and reassuring. She called later to confirm appointments and check on things and would take messages from me to mom. I also called the nurse's station every few days to check on mom, and was always met with a friendly voice. Despite mom's terrible balance issues, she never fell at Cerenity, even with learning how to use a new hip. Maria, the social worker, was a tremendous help in assessing and gathering reports about mom's current condition and assisting us in determining what the next step would be after TCU. She arranged outside visits for me with mom (once they were allowed), and went out of her way to stay in touch and keep us updated. After a few weeks, mom was referred to 24/7 care and Maria helped us find a new facility and it was closer to home. She even helped pack mom up and gave me a call as mom was on her way with transport to the new facility (where I was waiting). She was so thoughtful. I wouldn't change a thing about mom's care and experience with Cerenity. She went into the facility crying about having to go there, which broke our hearts, and within a couple of days, was giving me the "thumbs up" via video that she was very comfortable, content, happy, getting good care, and yes, even the food was good! Because of her great experience at Cerenity, mom was willing and accepting to moving to 24/7 long-term care where she will continue to receive the level of care she had at Cerenity's TCU and that she now needs. I highly recommend this facility and all the staff that work there.
