“Dr. Robert Wagner is a ROCK STAR doctor at Gillette! Just had the pleasure of meeting him today, not knowing what to expect from the experience. I was going in for a follow up appointment but what I got was so much more than just that. He educated me about P.T.S.D. and how I have been affected by it through a trauma at the age of six. The particular incident happened to me four decades ago and Dr. Wagner basically was giving me permission to have compassion for the six year old girl that still lives inside of me, that is still traumatized by what took place and I am 46 years old now. “I don't really know what people expect from a county run detox center. No one is throwing hundreds of thousands of dollars at them to make it a five star facility. I just got out of Ramsey County Detox after spending not quite 48 hours there, and I have nothing but good things to say about the staff there. I have been to that detox a few times and when I went years ago, it was not a good experience. The staff was indifferent and didn't want to be bothered. This time, and the time before, the staff was amazing and I had two separate staff members go out of their way to tell me their stories and how I could and WOULD stay sober if I wanted it, and I do want it. My counselor was amazing, and the physician assistant I spoke with on two occasions impacted me more than she''ll ever know. I encountered nothing but kindness there, and for that, I'm grateful. If you want to go to a high-end detox facility then find one and pay an arm and a leg. It's your choice if having your own room and a chef to make meals for you is what you want to get out of the experience. I was just happy to actually be helped emotionally and mentally when I was there - that's all I could have asked for. So I thank the staff from the bottom of my heart for that.”
