    Finally writing this long overdue review after our purchase of a truck from Matt Saxe back in December. What started out as a nightmare scenario ended better than we could have hoped. We are not from the area, about a 2 hour drive away, actually, but my husband found this Ford F-150 and fell in love.

    The day we went to pick it up, before even leaving the parking lot, the check engine light was on. So we went back into the lobby and told our salesman, Mike, about it. After waiting for it to be checked by the service department, we were told it was just a minor sensor issue and that the light was turned off and we were good to go. We drove it home only to have the light come on again. After checking the code ourselves, there was a 50/50 chance that the code was actually a simple sensor issue or a major timing chain problem notorious in the ecoboost engines. I took the truck to our local trusted mechanic to get the verdict. As we feared, the timing chain was wrecked and it was going to be over $3,000 to fix (all of this was discovered within the first week of ownership).

    I called Mike after getting all of the information from the mechanic and asked what could be done. He said he would speak to his manager and get back to me. I was nervous about having to eat that cost since we technically signed "as is/no warranty" paperwork, but I was hopeful that they would take some responsibility since the light was on before we even drove off.

    Mike called back and said to bring it in for them to check themselves. They would give me a loaner to have in the meantime. So I brought the truck back down and took a loaner back the 2 hour drive and was able to use that for the next week that they had the truck. When I dropped the truck off I also gave our mechanics findings to the service department. To my surprise, the truck was fixed by Matt Saxe Service with no charge to us. Although it could be argued that the extra days/time off of work to bring it there and back were a pain, I was impressed that they didn't charge us a dime for the fix or the loaner. The truck has been driving fine with no check engine light ever since.

    Shortly after, we had a family emergency that ended up costing a lot of money in medical bills for our dog that needed to be hospitalized (hence the delay in the review). So I am extremely grateful that we did not also have to worry about those added costs in our lives. Overall, happy with the experience in the end. Thank you, Mike, and Matt Saxe.

    Donna was very gratious. Part of the service couldn't be done as wrong accessories were sent to dealership. The steps were at the dealership for about a month before appointment so looking at them ahead of time could have made my experience better. However, the lobby was comfortable and I worked from there for my time there. The hitch looks great, haven't used it yet but I'm confident that it will be fine. Again, Donna was good with keeping me updated.
