I would highly recommend St Francis Rehab (Shakopee location), and specifically, PT, Tonya. She was awesome! I needed follow up PT, following foot surgery and it was the best experience it could be. Tonya is extremely knowledgeable and showed concern for my whole, overall well being...not just my foot! She worked with me for several months and not only did she work with exercises and strengthening for my foot but also breathing and other strengthening things that were good for my whole body, in relationship to my foot and how I walked. I can't say enough good things about her...she was phenomenal! Thanks Tonya!
My daughter had an ankle injury from basketball and the support we received was excellent. Our physical therapist was knowledgeable, not only about how the body functions and works but about the importance of getting stronger before returning to play. She was thorough, did her homework and provided excellent resources to continue on our own to get better and stronger! Thank you!
I was in need of a physical therapist with training in strain-counterstrain (something a therapist in Maryland used on me often) as well as a newer technique called total motion release (TMR) because of constant issues with debilitating muscle tightness. It wasn’t easy to find a place in or near the Twin Cities, but when I finally called St. Francis PT, I found a therapist who does both. It is a bit of a drive for me, but totally worth it.
Two years ago—after a terrible experience at another PT place in Minneapolis —I got to Tonya and she taught me the TMR exercises that a patient can do easily at home, and I’ve used them ever since to release those tight muscles. But when I broke my hip and had a partial replacement three months ago, I knew I’d need “regular” therapy to build up my strength so I wouldn’t limp. Once again, she is helping me a lot and I foresee I’ll be able to put my cane away in just a few more weeks.
I’m sure all the PTs are very qualified. The facility is clean, there are several private rooms, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
