Very peaceful place for a nice walk along the river
A beautiful area to observe animals and take in the area between Elk and Mississippi rivers. Rough trails so it probably isn't great for people not steady on their feet, or for small kids. We went in March and with snow melting soon, it will get mucky. We saw eagles, hawks, deer, gees, swans, and evidence/tracks from coyotes and maybe wolves and big cats. We'll need rubber boots if we go back there soon. Definitely a beautiful place to go. Leave your dogs at home though, dogs (even on leash) are not allowed.
This is such an amazing hiking area so close to town. It feels like you're hours away from the city. It's quiet and the trails are beautiful. It's about 3 miles if you walk the whole circle, so make sure to bring some water. The views of the Elk River are great and it's really cool to see where the Elk River joins the Mississippi. If you're looking for a beautiful hike, this is worth checking out.
Great trails along both the Elk River and Mississippi River. Easy walking along wide mowed paths and you can also get off the trail for further exploration. Wooded along the rivers and prairie in the center. Peaceful and plenty of wildlife. Would be a great place trail running.with roughly a 2.5 mile loop.
Peaceful nature setting with scenic hiking along the river. Parking for 12 vehicles only. Portable toilet in the parking lot, no picnic area.
