The Edge Martial Arts

Our 5 and 7 year old started at Edge in August and since then it is something that they both look forward to on a daily basis. Our 7 year old has never taken to a sport, and we’ve always looked for new opportunities to keep him active. After the year we had I knew I had to try again and signed both kids up for the 2 week trial. Let me say that this is a great option for those looking for athletic activities and are new to martial arts!

My kids started their trial and fell in love with this sport! Along with the athletics of martial arts, Edge teaches their students about the importance of respect, kindness, listening skills, along with their health and safety in mind. Since our introduction to Edge, Master Thorn has kept strict covid-19 protocols to keep his students safe.

My son has practically grown up at The Edge. When I researched and reviewed a place for him to learn Karate, I decided on The Edge and have no regrets. I initially expected he would learn Karate and hopefully stick to it for a few years. What I did not expect was the discipline and respect engrained into my son's behavior and personality. Another reason I selected The Edge was the Brazilian jiu-jitsu option. Grand Master Thorn has substantially expanded his curriculum as the best in both Karate and BJJ. Because of Covid-19, I joined so I could be my son's rolling partner during quarantine. I wish I did it years ago.

Our 7-year old daughter has been at the Edge for almost a year now and has had a very positive experience. The instructors all know her by name, are very encouraging, while also pushing her to work hard. Her overall confidence level and attitude has improved greatly over the past year and we contribute a large amount of this to her consistent classes at the Edge.

When my young son expressed an interest in the martial arts I was thrilled because I have always wanted to learn as well. It was a quick search of local martial arts schools that lead to The Edge. It took no time at all to see the quality of the school as compared to any other I researched. I saw an emphasis on helping people of all ages excel under the unparalleled teaching of Grand Master Thorn and his staff. When we met him we knew we were in the right place. My son gravitated to him immediately and we both were warmly welcomed into the school as new students. As the website states, it is clear Grand Master Thorn has had incredible success in the martial arts and to study under him and his staff is a privilege. It was important to me that we study under someone authentic, successful and dedicated and to his students. Now as we have reached the advanced belts I cant begin to express how grateful I am that my son spends a whole lot of time learning from a teacher and his staff that teach him so much more than the physical discipline of karate.
