“Wonderful old public cemetery established in 1868. The graves aren't in straight lines. Even in death, these people maintain a sense of individuality. The tombstones and other monuments are gorgeous. These are some of the finest tombstones in the Twin Cities. Some of the tombstones are in the shape of trees and some in the shape of benches, and some in the shape of benches made of trees.”

“I chose Anderson Funeral Home for my mothers funeral just 30 days ago, The entire staff was amazing to deal with, I had never lost a parent before so this was my first time in this situation and it was amazing to me how Tim Anderson was there on time, prepared and very professional, caring and no pressure. He walked myself and my brother through everything and made it so comfortable. He greeted us for visitation and my mother was BEAUTIFUL!! The staff did a perfect job from hair to the flowers, in which Tim recommended from their florist. He also arranged the transport to Iowa for another visitation and funeral. Tim's service and caring professionalism has rendered him a life long friend to me and my family. This truly was the best gift I could have ever given to my Mother! Thank you Tim and to all of your staff for helping me and my family through this difficult time. God Bless.”

“Oak Hill is dear to my heart as most of my family are here. I visit often and was thrilled to learn quite recently that Steve, (the previous caretakers son) is the reason the grounds are meticulously groomed and cared for…he is the torch lighting the way for the families and loved ones at Oak Hill just as his Father did for so many years before!”

“I served a family who chose to do a hybrid/green type burial. The gentleman (cemetery staff member) who assisted us with the burial was great to work with; he was respectful and dignified towards the family and the situation. I would recommend them to any family looking for a cemetery for any type of burial.”

“I fell down, down, down Into this dark and lonely hole There was no one there to care about me anymore And I needed a way to climb and grab a hold of the edge You were sitting there, holding a rope And we'll go up, up, up But I'll fly a little higher Go up in the clouds because the view's a little nicer Up here my dear It won't be long now, it won't be long now When we get back on land Well I'll never get my chance Be ready to live and it'll be ripped right out of my hands And maybe someday we'll take a little ride We'll go up, up, up and everything will be just fine We'll go up, up, up But I'll fly a little higher Go up in the clouds because the view's a little nicer Up here my dear It won't be long now, it won't be long now If only I had a little bit more time If only I had a little bit more time with you We could go up, up, up And take that little ride We'll sit there holding hands And everything would be just right And maybe someday I'll see you again We'll float up in the clouds and we'll never see the end We'll go up, up, up But I'll fly a little higher Go up in the clouds because the view's a little nicer Up here my dear It won't be long now, it won't be long now”

“Nice old cemetery with many large tombstones and room for more dead people. The oldest grave I found was from 1864. Old tombstones give such an immediate indication of how some stones age better than others, which makes me wonder why so many of the large impressive, and probably expensive tombstones used softer stones when there are those with harder stones from the same era.”

“The staff at Grace Funeral Home & St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden was so kind and compassionate. From the moment we contacted them, they helped us to plan a beautiful funeral service for our daughter. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, and very well-kept. We could not be happier with our daughter's final resting place.”

“Nice old cemetery established in 1863. Lots of nicely carved tombstones. On some old stones, I saw the womans name, and then "wife of" and the name of the man next to her. There was no reciprocal "husband of" on his marker. It would seem that misogyny extends even into death.”

“As far as places designed to store the remains of dead people, this is one. It's not the nicest I've ever visited, but not the worst either. There are 2 areas. One only has metal grave markers, flat to the ground and easy to mow over. I couldn't find any old graves there, so it would seem to be the newer, more bargain minded part of the dead body storage land. Then there's the older area with tomb stones. There are also low profile grave markers, but they tend to also be stone. It's clearly the nicer area.”

“Lived by cemetery many years and do have loved ones there. The original caretaker was strict in how the cemetery looked and was taken care of, unfortunately, he passed and family members took over. The individual that took over had a heart of gold and could not say no when it came to family members grieving and wanting to add extra to a grave site. This should have been done on only a short term basis, not a everyday, every holiday. The cemetery began looking cluttered and not so great. Meaning, the memorabilia should have only lasted on grave a week to a month, then should have been removed. 5 years ago my family purchased plots because of living close and loving the cemetery, it was like family. But, it began going down and 3+ years ago we buried my father and we were not happy with the grounds and the articles flying in the breeze stuck to stones and trash (aka) glass bottles left on monuments that rolled away. This was not allowed in other cemetery's we visited before making are choice, so why here? Today I am happy to say, that the cemetery is a beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained. I know that this doesn't help the individuals that were allowed to have memorabilia, but we have to have rules that everyone has to follow. The cemetery is visited by a lot of other families and it needs to be maintained in a uniform fashion. Keep up the good work cemetery directors every time I visit I seen improvements!!!”

“The entire process of families and casket arriving, lowering casket, positioning the casket to center, the cement lid, and just placing the dirt back on top was very smooth today. Although staffs only talked among themselves and with the funeral owner, they were very respectful and patient with the cultural difference and process. Thank you! The cemetery itself is also very clean.”
