“Very small but that makes it very easy to keep an eye on your kids. The button to turn on the water is really a neat feature despite it's ability to cause the "my turn!" battles. Great for a small park but wow is it small.”

Park

“Nice shelter along with a nice small playground. Be careful of the Walnut trees, they are all over the place. Lots of tables available in the shelter for bigger groups to come. The parking is a little rough. We had to park across the street at the sand volleyball court.”

Southview Trail Trailhead

Address: Southview Dr, Liberty, MO 64068, USA

“It’s really nothing more than just a parking spot for trail users. The trail itself is a nice short, wide route with some hills. It’s a mile long. Also, nice way for Liberty to repurpose the old highway.”

“It has some construction going on but it will be beautiful when it is done. They are expanding the place and there's an awful lot of work being done in areas seen and unseen. I look forward to it when they are completely done. It will be a wonderful place to bring kids and to do athletics and watch athletic events.”

“Very nice moderate hike (some uphill and more of a rough path). Simple loop trail with halfway shortcut. Can still hear the cars nearby though. Houses bordering the back sort of disruptive but could be helpful if there’s an emergency on the trail. Did not see any wildlife besides spiders. Dogs are allowed on trail”

Happy Rock Park

Address: 7600 NE Antioch Rd, Kansas City, MO 64119, USA

Park

“Happy Rock is a good place to run your dog; especially in the winter time when few people are there and the poison ivy and other "gotcha" plants and vines are dormant. I noticed PW cut back a lot of dead brush and trees which cleans the walking trail considerably.”

Trail of Heroes

Address: 6801 Shoal Creek Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64119, USA

Park

“This trail was amazing. It had a fresh dark mulch trail. It had varying landscapes from some hills, to very tall trees, to the pond, to some open prairie type area. Tons of wild flowers throughout. The pond was GORGEOUS light green and when you go down to touch it it looks clear. It was very serene and beautiful with the beginning of fall colors. We saw SO many dogs! All dogs we saw were actually off leash so keep that in mind if you are also bringing a dog. They were all friendly and well behaved. Also some of them wander away from their owner but still know where they’re going, so don’t grab them unless you know for sure they’re lost. And of course the memorials at this site are so beautiful and there are so many spread throughout. The only downside is you can hear the highway a little and see some of the academy buildings from a few spots with gaps in the trees. I am so excited to go on this trail again and see the lake!”
