Beautiful natural setting on the Missouri River and the fort was awesome-- great restoration job and guides were well versed in the history of the times. Bring your camera, lots of beautiful views and wildlife.

It's an amazing little fort but I recommend you try to come during the yearly muster reenactment for a more interesting experience

Great historical place! We had a great time. The staff was wonderful and didn't mind talking with us and answering any questions we had.

If you are looking for a glimpse into early American history, then check this place out. The modern education center has well crafted displays that helps tell the story of this fort. Perhaps the more interesting aspect of this fort was that it was there to protect the Osage Indians. Inside the fort are some furnished rooms to help tourist to visualize life back then and a lot of parts of the fort you can wander into. A few areas are temporarily closed due to a fire, but the majority of the fort is open.
