Dr. Anderson knows his pharmacology as good as any Psych I have been to. He is a skilled diagnostician as well, if provided with adequate info. He's helped our whole family, and is caring and a good listener. Only downside is it can be hard to get through to his office staff, so plan well in advance if you need refills. There's usually not too long of a wait in the waiting room.

    * 03\23\22 Updated on change is care and climate at this office. Covid impacted them to be sure, as it has in many businesses. With Dr. Anderson missing from the practice, (no fault of his own), never the less, patients were assigned to nurse practitioners. Our experience was horrible, due to the incompetence of our assigned practitioner, who was didn't have familiarity with a family of drugs that has been prescribed to the patient for years. She would not ask one of the other doctors in the practice. I was not allowed to transfer to another doctor in the practice. I was told by the practitioner to reduce a medication, but when I asked, (by how much and for how long), she didn't know. She told me to call a pharmacist and ask them. At the same time I and many other patients continued to have a great deal of difficulty getting their refills or even being able to get through on the phones. I spoke with the office administrator finally, asking what i had to do to make this system work for my families mental health? I tried everything to know end and was blocked in with that one practitioner. I even told the administrator about her telling me to call the pharmacist. I was polite but firm in asking for help to navigate a system that had been broken for over a year. I was offered a short list of other psychiatric practices around the area.
Dr. Anderson was the backbone. He is a great man and brilliant doctor. He would be sad to know all of what's gone on in his absence. I hope the best for him, and the difficulties working with this practice are no reflection on him.

Dr Anderson takes time to talk with me and is always encouraging, which really helps a lot. I highly recommend him as a psychiatrist!!!

His ability to hear the whole person, not just what they say out loud, makes him a tremendous diagnostician. He is really in tune with his patients and takes the time to get to know what is going on in their lives so he can figure out triggers. It's very rare to find a Psychiatrist that takes as much time to listen to all of your problems and help guide you to finding YOUR solution! He doesn't just tell you an answer, he teaches and empowers his patients to understand why they are struggling and help them figure develope the skills necessary to find the right solution.
Instead of just writing a script to erase the problem with medication he provides therapeutic consultation that helps teach coping and resolution skills!
My daughter is an Aspie (with severe social anxiety). With his help she is strong enough she was able to move 4 hours away onto campus to get her bachelors degree!! Such amazing progress for a child that never left my side until she started kindergarten and then threw up every single day at school from anxiety until we met Dr. Anderson.
