What an outstanding collection of chocolate and old fashioned candies. Service was not particularly helpful or friendly but the store is big. Some of the chocolate looked a little old and tired so look it carefully over when selecting.
After driving by Bakers Candies 5-10 times a week for 8 years and watching them go through several expansions, I finally decided to stop. Being a Nebraskan I was familiar with Baker's Chocolates but didn't expect the selection of other candies, from old time favorites to the new popular sours and gummies. There's also a made in Nebraska section... Valentinos, Dorothy Lynch, and many other nostalgic items. You will also find a cooler with items from the Wahoo Meat Locker, home of the Wahoo Weiner (if you know you know). Plenty of things to keep you coming back.
First time at this candy store, it was a lot bigger than I thought it was. Tons of different candies and I was surprised to see alot of their items were not overly priced.
Nebraska largest candy store, they are more than Bakers Meltaways, which are amazing.
They also carry vintage candy, international Candies and theater box candy.
PLUS they support local businesses and carry my TEA!!! Yes, they do, in addition to local salsa, Valentines pizza, ice cream, popcorn, freeze dries Candies, seasonings and more!
Wow, wow, and wow! Baker's Candies was a Nebraska Passport fan favorite stop, and not having been there before myself, now I know why?! It's a good thing I live so far away, or I would put on 50 pounds quickly. They are very liberal with their samples, and I was happy to experiment. We stocked up on some obscure bottled sodas too, but the really good stuff is in the case to the right when you come in the door. Everyone was so polite and welcoming. What a great little candy oasis this place is!
