Montessori Children's Room

My daughter has attended Montessori Children's Room for six years and is moving up to E2 (4th - 6th grades) this fall. I have always known that my child was getting a quality education with Mary and her staff but it is always nice to get outside confirmation. My daughter recently took a week-long engineering and forensic science camp and the instructors couldn't say enough good things about her. They said that many times she was the only one to stay on task and complete the project and that she looked forward to the next challenge. They appreciated that she was able to follow the basic instructions and then expand on them on her own to create new ideas. She was respectful, kind, and courteous to the staff and other students, and they said she was a good leader and a strong team member. I firmly believe that the Montessori Philosophy education that she receives from MCR is the basis for all of these qualities and more. I know that along with the more traditional educational information that is taught at most schools, MCR is providing my daughter with hands-on learning and 'soft skills' like leadership, self confidence, flexibility, and problem solving that will benefit her in any future endeavor.

This is a wonderful school that is definitely worth looking into for your child for preschool and elementary education.

Our son has been a student at MCR for three wonderful years. The education and environment the school provides is top-notch. MCR operates like a well-oiled machine, thanks to the attentive office staff and veteran teachers. The building and grounds are well cared for and beautiful. The outdoor classroom is a breathtaking garden filled with color and wildlife waiting to be explored by curious children. Many garden beds are filled with fruits and vegetables tended to and picked by elementary students and delivered to the kitchen where they are turned into something exceptionally delicious by the school’s amazing chef. Walking through the front doors, you can sense the peacefulness of the learning environment. The classrooms are clean, large, bright, and inviting. The teachers amaze us time and time again with their calm demeanor, their passion for the Montessori method, and their commitment to each student’s success.

After touring several local Montessori schools that offered an elementary program, there was no doubt in our minds that this was where we had to be. Our son is eager to go to school each day and we are amazed at the quality of education he has received at MCR. He often comes home and teaches us things we didn’t know! We are so proud to be a part of this phenomenal school and we are looking forward to beginning our fourth year this fall. If you are looking at a Montessori education for your child, this is the place to be!
