Very pretty little camp spot. I arrived in the dark but the morning was very pretty.
Very pretty and well maintained campground. Sites have nice views of prairie with trees, or of the lake. I was happy their website showed pictures of the sites when reserving. I recommend staying there!
Beautiful spot for a stop over on my way out west. Walked down to a tent camping site with my gear. The sites are pretty close to each other but the campground was almost empty on a Thursday night, so I felt very secluded. Recommend for anyone camping cross country.
I've been coming here ever since I was young every summer. The lake is a beautiful place, and great for fishing. I camp every time I go there. There's spots for campers and RV's, as well as spots for tents. There's a place to swim. There's a dock to get out on the water. The place is decently maintained too. The nighttime is beautiful as the light pollution doesn't affect the area nearly as bad as everywhere else. They have fun trails to walk along. Not overly expensive in my opinion, so long as you stay a little while.
We stopped here overnight in passing to Colorado from northern Iowa. We loved this place sooo much, and wanted to stay longer! We made reservations ahead of time.
The campground is so beautiful. There are trees and shrubs between each campsite and it doesn’t feel like a parking lot like some other campgrounds where they pack you in. The lake is beautiful, the campsites are beautiful, and I can’t wait to stay again on our way back! I do wish they had water hookups though.
