Lost Creek Canyon

  This is a lovely short hike, and with all the rain we've had recently, the waterfall was going quite nicely. Even in the driest of times, the trail goes through a riparian (stream) area, and there's actually a small wetlands there, complete with boardwalk so that we visitors don't destroy it.
  
  This was a ranger-led hike, which I haven't often done, and which was a very different feel. I liked it. The ranger talked about the history of the area, some of the plants, and how the pictographs were made. He probably talked about a lot of other things as well, but I ended up getting there late and missed the first part of the hike.
  
  This is a short hike, as I said, but it's actually fairly challenging terrain. You have to climb through and over lots of rocks, and under trees. It can be done easily in less than an hour, and kids would love it. There are a couple of informational plaques, and you can either hike in and out along the same route or take a different route back, making it a circle.

  We went on a field trip and it was amazing, it was snowing, and the rainfall was frozen it was soo beautiful and on national holidays entry is free!
