Covenant Hospice Care

Leon and Virgil took care of my mother when she was in a group home. She had parkinsons and a colostomy bag, and was bed ridden. Virgil took care of my mom 5 days a week, and my mom looked forward to his visits every day. Leon was my mom's nurse, saw my mom once a week, and contacted me either by phone call or text to let me know how my mom was doing. I live on the east coast and my mom was in Las Vegas, so obviously it was very important to keep in contact with them not only for the health of my mother, but the care she was receiving at the group home. My mother's disease progressed rapidly the last week of her life, and Leon comforted us and guided us to help her pass pain free, comfortably, and as easy as possible. There are not enough kind words I could use to describe the care my mother received. My mother loved them and she made that very clear until she could no longer speak. All of us kids and grandkids were by her side for her last day, which happened to be her 80th birthday. We would like to give Leon, Virgil and the entire staff a huge thank you for your care and compassion you gave my mom.

Overall, our family really appreciated the support and medical care from the Covenant team. Esther was especially helpful in setting up appropriate care for our loved one. Towards the end of her life, we feel like the situation was a bit more stressful because different caregivers had different opinions on her condition. However, this did not affect the level of care she received. We would ABSOLUTELY use Covenant again, though, and would recommend to anyone needing quality caregiving for a loved one in their final months.

One part of the service was great and the other part was not. The caretakers and nurses were absolutely top notch! 10 stars! The doctor assigned to sign the death certificate was negligent. I learned that a death certificate is to be signed quickly and within days of a death. It took over 30 days and was not handled until I raised heck about it. They immediately had another doctor sign it off. I would use this facility again no doubt but now that I know the laws on death certificates I would be the first one calling to INSURE that it had been done. Do not wait for the mortuary or crematory to do this for you. Obviously mine did not. No fault of the caretakers at all--they were simply amazing!
