An awesome hidden gem! It's cool to see the goodies left behind by precious hikers.
The drive to the trailhead was very rough with large rocks and MUST use a high clearance vehicle. Not a very scenic hike but the cabin at the end make up for it. This area would be better suited for a camping trip instead of a dayhike. The cabin in the woods at night has to be a little unsettling with all the scary movies with a cabin in tje woods lol...
This little shack affords great shelter in the middle of the winter. Unfortunately, there was not much wood beyond thumb thick sticks to keep the stove going.
Lots of ppl here in the summer but few in the winter or fall months. Saved me from having a freezing night! The spring out front is usually running when the snow is gone. Double check in the corn creek reserve office before heading up in the summer as there is no water on the trail.
