One of my favorite places to venture off to for a hike. Mostly quiet and a lot cooler than the lower desert areas for a summer hike.
A treelined, out of the mainstream, treasure. Modest camping facilities, several bars and private resort, are the gateway toward the tree covered, majestic and towering, 11918 foot tall, Charleston Peak. Suprising springs and waterfalls crown the several trails to the top and prepare you for the top of the hike, forested and deserted views, massing over hundreds of square miles of the Mojave America, south of the Basin and Range National Tourist Treasure.
Loved it till the snow I will return
