Komainu Yemaso Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Reno

My kids have been going here almost 3 years now and they love it. Coach Adam is great with the kids. He’s patient but also keeps them focused!

Great place to train. I trialed most BJJ/MMA gyms in Reno and picked this one.
Solid schedule, I mostly went to the night classes so didn't see the owner Jerry too much but he was a very nice guy and was very accommodating. Adam the guy who teaches the night classes is a great coach, very cerebral without being verbose, and you can tell he sincerely puts effort into his curriculum. Nice, chill atmosphere but people still putting work in. Will definitely drop in if I'm ever back in Reno.

My husband and I attended a morning no gi class this past Monday while traveling through the area. Jerry was super welcoming and taught a great class. The series flowed together well and I learned some good details. The mats and bathroom area were also nice and clean and everyone was very welcoming. Thanks for having us and we hope to visit again in the future.

I recently moved to Reno and im a little upset that it took me two weeks before i found Komainu.

Komainu Gym is a truly unique space to train. As an avid submission grappling competitor i appreciate the fundamentally sound instruction, and the absence of ego-driven fight culture. This place embodies everything great about Jiu jitsu, and after one visit you can tell everyone here wants to see everyone improve. Its co-located with F.A.S.T gym where Olympians and other Pro athletes and Pro Fighters train.

As a bonus the facility is neat and clean, has locker rooms and showers; plus Komainu dishes out some seriously well crafted rash guards/fight apparel.
