A cool little ecosystem. It's mostly a rudimentary wooden boardwalks made with 2x10(?) planks, negotiable, carefully.
Cool walking bog with wood plank path. Lots of places to sit down and tons of wild blueberries. Saw a rabbit and some frogs and chipmunks. Can be wet and slippery in the wet season or when it rains.
Great easy walk even with children. Well maintained! We took a visit midday to explore and it was not too busy. It only gets a little tricky trying to pass people in groups (esp with children on the boards). Other than that, everything is wonderful! The trail and the veiwing decks are barely noticeable in the grand view of everything. Very nicely done. We look forward to coming back in a few weeks when the leaves begin to change colors.
Absolutely wonderful nature reserve. Abundance of diverse and interesting bird, plant and aquatic life. And some of the best wild blueberry picking in New England.
I have come here for years.
A very interesting habitat, the wooded trail gives way to a very narrow boardwalk. DO NOT STEP OFF!! I slipped once and one leg went into the bog. It went all the way down!
A wonderful place for Warblers and other song birds.
