Windham Academy Public Charter School is nothing short of the most amazing and best place to send my six-year old son, and he will be going here for as long as they will have him!
My son LOVES going to school. The teachers are passionate, skilled, and above all of that you can truly see that they really care about each child, and the community they're developing giving them all something that is unexplainable but felt just as strongly as their vast experiences. Beyond the phenomenal teachers that WA has the other staff is just as amazing. They really want what is best for your child, and each child that goes to this school and they put actions behind that! It is all based in wanting to help each child reach their full potential in the most thoughtful, intentional, caring way possible.
Windham Academy is one school that truthfully puts everything on the line for each child without question. The amount of care, thought, and love that this school, staff, and anyone whom is part of this community puts into everything they do is without question immeasurable!
With all of that thought, care, and love they really do a phenomenal job of making sure the students are participating at an age and developmentally appropriate level in every aspect even beyond "school work" by also emphasizing being a good, responsible, kind, caring and involved member of the school community. This also carries over to the lives of the children and their families and the many communities in which they live!
I found Windham Academy the year before my son went to Kindergarten. I fell in love with their mission and vision of what they wanted out of their school. I told my sister about it and her two daughters got in first. I watched this school grow into the little school on the hill since the beginning. Luckily, my son’s lottery number was picked in 2019 as I did not have a back up plan for him I knew I wanted him at WA. His teachers and administrators made his first year the best they possibly could with how the 2019/2020 school year went. This year has been going amazing, my son is thriving academically and socially, has made amazing connections with friends, has been called a role model to others(which makes me the most proud) and I have even made some great friendships along the way. I couldn’t ask for a better school and when things go back to “normal” I can not wait to start having school gatherings again because those were so much fun at the beginning of last year. I’m still waiting for my tall and small dance 💃 !! 😉 😂 We LOVE WA!!
We LOVE Windham Academy. Our kids genuinely enjoy going to school!! We feel that WA puts age appropriate responsibilities on the students, which has helped the kids as they mature. The teachers are given the flexibility and freedom to teach what they feel is best for their class as a whole, and yet they are still able to focus on the students’ individual needs.
As a parent, I really wanted my children to be challenged and Windham Academy has the perfect approach for my children’s learning styles and abilities. I know their individual needs are being met, and that they are not just being pushed through a system.
What we have noticed since attending WA is the explosion in our children’s confidence and maturity. We know this is due to the expectations set by WA.
The Windham Academy program provides both social and academic rigor and has a traditional yet modern approach to education. In our experience, WA is a step above what we have seen in other schools. I can’t imagine our kids going anywhere else.
Windham Academy has been nothing short of amazing since we enrolled our 2 boys almost 2 years ago. The staff is amazing & truly love what they do. My boys love it & look forward to going to school everyday to learn (even during a pandemic, they make it as normal & fun as they can for the kids but still keep everyone safe). We left a catholic private school to come here, it was the best decision we ever could have made for our children as it is not always a "one size fits all."
Windham Academy has been a lifesaver for our family. Have you ever heard of a kid wanting to have school instead of an old fashioned snow day?! Well I hadn't either until my daughter started at WA almost three years ago. The teachers and other staff members are there because they love what they do, and it makes a huge difference for the students and their families.
