  Our son absolutely loves Outside School. None of the preschools in our area get the kids outside to play enough, and Outside School days have become by far his favorite. In addition, Christy and her team teach the kids so much about nature through play and all manner of experiments. The kids grow their own plants and make their own forts and play with pulleys and magnifying glasses and learn about birds. Sun, rain, snow—the kids play in the woods year round, and splash about in their muddy buddies (full body rain gear). IMHO this program is what childhood play and play-led learning should be all about. :D

  Maplewood Outside School has been an amazing experience for my preschoolers. The gentle learning environment, outstanding teachers and small class size made my children feel immediately comfortable. They are so excited to attend each week and I love hearing about the fun games and interesting observations and creations they find in nature. My kids have greatly benefited from this program

  My daughter loved her experience at Outside School and often brought the lessons home with her. She would talk to me about trees, plants, birds, and insects with curiosity and confidence, and I saw a difference in her comfort with being outdoors. She also brought home some mugwort and put it under her pillow so it would bring her "sweet dreams" -- she took this very seriously and it was very important to her! The projects that she did were creative and interesting, and I loved that Christy was planting seeds in her lessons about sustainability and human responsibility in the outdoors. It's never too early!
  Christy is patient, kind, energetic, and brings a little bit of magic wherever she goes. It's no wonder that little ones love her so much!
